With the recent events in regards to COVID-19 and the concerns of well-being and safety, Swift Current Rampage Lacrosse takes those matters very seriously and is reporting that effective immediately, all events (‘try lacrosse’ clinics, evaluations, goal tender clinics, and practices) will be on HOLD.
Swift Current Rampage is very disappointed to not be on the floor, but the safety and well-being of our team mates, parents, volunteers, officials, and fans are more important. As soon as we have any updates, we will pass them on to you.
Our AGM is scheduled for this Wednesday, March the 18th - we will have an update specific to the AGM Monday evening whether or not it will be held.
Below is a statement from the Saskatchewan Lacrosse Association President. Just to clairifty, this statement does not mean the 2020 season is cancelled at this time.
“The Saskatchewan Lacrosse Association is following the lead of other Provincial and National Sport Organizations and effective March 14th, 2020, has postpone all SLA sanctioned activities (games, practices, programs, camps, clinics and try outs) in the immediate future due to the recent updates, advisories, and concerns over COVID-19. This decision was difficult; however, the health, safety, and protection of our entire Lacrosse family is top priority.
The Saskatchewan Lacrosse Association is grateful for the amount of work all our volunteers have put forth to prepare for events in the upcoming weeks and the start of the 2020 season, however, the SLA Board of Directors feels it is time to take necessary precautions to keep our community and families safe. At this time, a timeline cannot be provided on activities resuming, but the SLA Board of Directors and Staff will remain diligent in communicating any developments as they occur.”
